    SP09182009-08-28San Diego2009-08-30San Diego
Project: We will be conducting AUV gravity survey operations in the San Diego Trough on the R/V Sproul from August 28-31, 2009. These AUV operations are a follow-up to work we did at this site in 2008. Data analysis from that trip revealed the gravity noise to be unacceptably high. Efforts have been made this year to mitigate those effects. If, however, initial results are not favorable then the operations may be stopped earlier than the scheduled so we can use the remaining ship time at a later date.

    SP09122009-05-31San Diego2009-06-06San Diego
Project: The main objective of the cruise is to make a variety of shipboard measurements of waves (using free drifting buoys and shipboard radar) and meteorological variables (sodar and other sensors). These measurements will be conducted in conjunction with aircraft over flights with laser/lidar/infrared remote sensing systems (Ken Melville group at SIO). This cruise is a pilot experiment for a month long experiment in 2010.
